Version 1 · Draft · July 2026

Privacy notice

This covers this website and its waitlist — nothing else exists yet. It's written in plain English on purpose, and it's a draft: it will be reviewed and re-dated before Ghadeer launches. If anything here is unclear, write to us and we'll fix the wording.

The short version

  • We collect your email so we can tell you about the launch.
  • We only email you after you confirm you want that (double opt-in).
  • Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe. No login, no questions.
  • We never sell your information. There are no ads or analytics trackers on this site.

What we collect when you join the waitlist

Your email address
The one thing we actually need — it's how we reach you.
A consent record
A snapshot of the exact consent sentence shown next to the signup form, with the date and time. It's how we prove — to you and to regulators — that you asked to hear from us, and precisely what you agreed to.
A hashed IP address
A salted, one-way hash of your IP, used only to rate-limit abuse (for example, a script hammering the form). We never store your actual IP address, and the hash can't be reversed into it.
Signup context
When you signed up, when you confirmed, and where the signup came from (this website). Nothing about your browsing.

That's the whole list. No names, no phone numbers, no cookies.

Double opt-in, explained

Submitting the form sends you exactly one email: a confirmation link. Until you click it, you're not on the list and you won't hear from us again. If the signup wasn't you, ignore that email and that's the end of it.

What we send — and how to stop it

Once confirmed, you'll get updates about Ghadeer's launch — your invitation when it's ready, and occasional news that's genuinely worth your inbox. Nothing on anyone else's behalf.

Every email includes an unsubscribe link that works in one click — no account, no password, no "are you sure." Unsubscribing stops all email immediately; we keep a minimal record that you unsubscribed so we never email you by mistake again. If you'd rather have your record deleted entirely, email us and we'll do that instead.

What we never do

  • Sell, rent, or trade your information. Not now, not at launch, not ever.
  • Share it with anyone except the infrastructure that runs the list — our backend host and the service that delivers our email — and only as needed to do exactly that.
  • Run advertising pixels, cross-site trackers, or analytics cookies on this site.

About this website itself

These pages are static and set no cookies. The one background request the site may make is reading a single public setting from our backend — the community-wide mourning switch that turns the whole platform grayscale. No personal information is sent with it beyond what any web request carries.

Adults only

Ghadeer and its waitlist are for adults — you must be 18 or older to sign up. Nothing here is directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If someone under 18 has joined the list, contact us and we'll remove the record.

Where your information lives

The waitlist is stored with our backend provider (Supabase) and is accessible only to the small team running Ghadeer. We keep it until you unsubscribe and ask for deletion, or until the waitlist itself is retired after launch.

Canada and the United States

Ghadeer serves both countries, so this waitlist is built to honor Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) and privacy law (PIPEDA), alongside US state privacy laws: express consent recorded before we send anything, clear identification of who's writing, a working unsubscribe in every message, and collection limited to what the stated purpose needs. You can withdraw consent at any time, and you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — just email.

Contact

hello@ghadeer.app — note this address is a placeholder while our mail service is being set up ahead of launch. If it bounces, check back here; this notice will be updated with the working address.

Changes

This is version 1, a draft. We'll revise it before launch and note the version and date at the top whenever it changes. If a change matters — anything collected, shared, or used differently — we'll say so plainly rather than bury it.
